PTA Parent Breakfast and Classroom Visits

February 13 - Parent Breakfast

The attendance of over a hundred parents made our first Parent Breakfast a huge success. Parents, Grandparents and others joined their children for breakfast in the cafeteria and then for a few words from Principal Trish Champagne as well as the PTA, the Hawaii Community Federal CU, Freedom School, English Learners Program and Technology.

Parents then joined their children in their classes and spent a half hour with their keiki learning about what their students are doing, getting to know their teachers better, asking questions and in many cases actively participating in student learning. Parents could learn about the curriculum first hand, meet other parents and find opportunities to support their students and teachers.

Mahalo to our PTA for helping subsidize the cost of the parent breakfasts. Thanks to the parents who were able to rearrange work schedules to attend this event.
