Meet our Administrative Team
Diane Spencer
Principal

I am pleased to welcome you back to the 2020-21 school year! I would like to extend a special welcome to all of the new families joining Konawaena Elementary this year and welcome back all of our returning families as well! I am honored to be your new principal. My first day in March was the first day that schools had shut down due to the COVID 19 pandemic. What a way to start! I most recently was the Vice Principal at Konawaena High School. Prior to working at the high school, I was a teacher here at KES. I have always been a wildcat!

Our goal at Konawaena Elementary School is to work together to provide our students with engaging activities in a rich learning environment even in our current distance learning mode. In a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all ways possible: socially, emotionally, as well as, academically. My hope is that all children will love school and that we can nurture a learning environment that is positive, safe, warm, caring, as well as a fun place to learn and grow.

Student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships we build within our classrooms, school and our community. This is important now more than ever. It truly does take a village. At Konawaena Elementary, we value teamwork and collaboration. We greatly appreciate the support you provide for your children at home to help them meet their learning goals.

Although this year looks different than any other year, we are dedicated to providing your child(ren) a memorable, interactive, engaging experience whether it is in our 100% distance learning program or our blended model program. We hope you will find that Konawaena Elementary School is truly a place where learning is joyful and children are happy to participate in their education.  We are also hopeful that we will be able to see our students in person one day soon.

To our Wildcat family, let’s make it a great year!
